Why Georgia Law?

Master in the Study of Law

If you're looking for an edge in your field, and to maximize your value to your employer, the MSL program might just be right for you.

It allows you to obtain many of the benefits that lawyers obtain when they are in their JD degree, but without having to go through three years of school. It sharpens your analytical skills. It teaches you critical thinking skills. And those can be invaluable skills to an employer.

The University of Georgia School of Law Master in the Study of Law (M.S.L.) program provides an unparalleled educational opportunity for anyone seeking a greater understanding of the law, but not interested in becoming an attorney. The program can be completed at the main campus in Athens, its facility in Atlanta, or a combination of the two locations.

If you're looking for an edge in your field and to maximize your value to your employer, the MSL program might just be right for you.

The MSL program is offered in Athens where a student can do it on a full-time basis for one year or on a part-time basis for up to three years.

In Atlanta, we're offering a program that can be completed with evening courses over a two-year period. Students also have the opportunity to mix and match the two according to their own schedules and needs.

Studying the law teaches you more than just legal principles.

It also offers our MSL students the opportunity to expand their professional networks in a way that will reach future lawyers that they'll be working with side-by-side in the years to come.

The faculty at UGA Law is incredibly accomplished. Many of them are renowned legal scholars, many of them are former United States Supreme Court Clerks, but more than that, they are incredible teachers.

The law school puts a high priority on good teaching and the students benefit from that.
